New York Wing has not received any state funding for several years. With the help of our membership, we can change that.SOME FACTS:
- 4 out of 5 states receives funding from their states annually.
- All of our neighboring wings receive significant funding from their state budgets, with the exception of Ohio.

- $ 100,000. for Repair and Upgrading of Wing Headquarters
- $ 5,000. for Cadet Summer Encampments
- $ 3,000. for Annual Cadet Programs
- $ 5,000. for Senior Programs
- $ 10,000. for Pilot Proficiency
- $ 10,000. for Inner City Squadron Startup Programs
- $ 35,000. for Communications Equipment
WHAT TO DO:
Sample letters have been provided, you'll need to send 4 letters total, one each to: Senator Joseph Bruno, Assemblyman Sheldon Silver, your local Senator, and your local Assembly Member. Download the sample letter, fill in your name and address, sign it, and mail it to your representatives. That's it. Use the link on the left to find your representatives on the web.
WHAT ABOUT THOSE WITH NO INTERNET ACCESS?
We need your help to spread the word. If you know people without internet access, please print the sample letters for them. The whole package is available as a single file to download, and is formatted so that it will work on any computer with a word processor. Please pass the sample letters and instructions along on paper or on disk.
We also believe that this is an excellent opportunity for cadets to involve themselves, and suggest that cadet and composite squadrons take a few minutes to teach a class on how our state government operates, and how our representatives work for us, and for all cadets to address letters to their representatives.
